What price range ? Cheap ones?

We all bought headphones that were just OK. Earphones that we could wear for a few weeks, maybe, and then throw them away if we did not like them. These came from super sales or cash lines at reduced prices and met a very specific (and brief) need. We are not here to tell you to stop buying this type of headphones. What we will tell you though is that the lifestyle of disposable headphones is not the one that provides the best experience for you or your music. Not only are cheap headphones designed to collapse, but they are not physically unable to provide the audio experience that artists and filmmakers strive to achieve in your favorite movies, albums, and TV shows. If you need something bigger, go for a sound bar ?

Who makes the best headphones?

The truth is that the headsets that come with iPhones and many new Android phones sound much better than before. Nevertheless, if you are serious about your music, these plastic capsules can only take you far. The best accessory upgrade you can buy for a new media player, smartphone or tablet is a solid headset. With so many choices, ranging from cheap cans that you can buy at the local Best Buy, to meticulously tuned and economical masterpieces, it can be hard to find the right headphone. But if you take the time to choose the right pair and take care of it, your headphones can easily survive the device that plays your music.

Headphones against earphones

The choice of headphones is endless, but you have to choose between a padded headphone or a well tuned intra-channel headphone. Both have their merits, but for this roundup, we focus on designing around the ear and around the ear of a traditional headset. In general, headphones are able to reproduce richer bass, because they have larger drivers than headphones and they do not rely on an in-ear seal to restore sound. Some listeners also find that headphones are more comfortable to wear and easier to put on and take off than headphones. This naturally means that the headphones are bigger and less suited to the gym.

Noise suppression

You can try to dispel the noise of the outside world by increasing the volume, but the best solution to preserve your mental integrity – and your ears – is to invest in noise-canceling headphones to take advantage of your lower volumes. Active noise-cancellation technology use ear bud microphones to measure external noise and adjust the signal to cancel it. It is an efficient technology, but the operation of the noise canceling circuit depends on the power. If you simply want to block the sound without a noise circuit, a good headset on the ear will naturally be to some extent. This is called sound insulation, and works simply from earplugs forming a good seal on your ears to prevent outside noise from entering. It’s not as efficient, but it’s cheaper than active noise cancellation and does not require power.

Types of wireless headphones

Wireless headphones can be practical in all situations where you do not want to worry about hanging cables, such as in the gym, for example. And now that many phone manufacturers no longer include 3.5mm audio jacks, wireless headphones are also a good way to connect to the latest devices. After years of  mediocre sound, Bluetooth wireless stereo audio has made great strides in terms of sound quality. While the data signal containing Bluetooth audio is compressed, headphone and headphone manufacturers have found ways to improve it to compensate for its flaws.  No matter what type of headset you want, you can not go wrong with any of the available options. That said, you do not need to spend a lot of money on a pair of quality headphone.

Studio quality headphones

There are excellent studio-quality headphones at a very attractive price. They are quite versatile, which means that even if they are closed (and therefore better adapted to the use of recordings), you will also find them very good for editing and mixing the sound. Personally, I did not want to have 1 headphones for recording and 1 for editing, it’s the perfect choice for that. They are very comfortable. Sometimes you will be able to  use them for 3 hours without interruption and  have no problem. I do not really find any negative comment about them. My only point would be: these are STUDIO headphones. Yes, you can use them to listen to music, but they are not designed for that purpose. For example, the cable is too long to circulate (which is also a studio for the pros), it is quite big (which is also a studio for the pros), the sound is very natural and intact (which in the studio is a benefit), they have no noise cancellation (which is also a benefit in the studio). In the end, these are studio headsets. If you buy them to listen to music, you may not be completely satisfied. If you buy them for the studio, I bet you’ll be pretty satisfied right away.

Review of outstanding Headphones

Sony MDR7506

This lightweight, low-profile, high-quality reference headset has been designed to be comfortable to wear for long periods of time, making it ideal for use in broadcast and studio environments. A 40mm PET diaphragm and a neodymium magnet deliver performance that exceeds the requirements of digital audio sources.

The Sony MDR7506 professional stereo headset is ideal for monitoring sound in recording studios, radio, film production, video, electronic news gathering – and for virtually any application requiring high quality sound. The closed ear design MDR-7506 is surprisingly popular in pro and home recording studios. It features a rugged design, convenient folding construction, 40mm control units, gold connectors and a professional grade OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) cord. Features Rugged design: Proven reliability in the most challenging situations Foldable construction: Compact 40mm control unit for storage: For high-quality, crisp sound reproduction Closed-ear design: Reduced comfort and external noise interference Stereo plug Unimatch Applications Cable: reliable and stable connection and signal transmission.

The overall design of the headphone is pretty good. They are structurally well designed for the most part. The sound insulation is poor. You can hear people saying things through these depending on the volume. The sound leaks on the original pads are quite weak. People will not have to hear your music at a high enough volume. Extremely long spiral cable with 1/4 inch adapter.  Robust cable design. Each point of cable curvature is reinforced with additional rubber. Soldering to the driver seems equally strong, it should be able to support most tugs.  The coiled cable also prevents a lot of entanglements! The headband is quite comfortable. You could easily find a cover if it becomes a problem. The cup adjustment pieces have numbers to ensure a specific adjustment.

OPPO PM-3

The OPPO PM-3 combines audiophile performance, stylish styling, sound insulation and portability with an elegant, lightweight and stylish headphones. With the PM-3, users can easily recreate the listening experience of a pair of flagship headphones on a flagship amplifier or a high-quality 2-channel speaker system in an optimized listening room, but in a portable format that can be used anywhere.  The PM-3 is the lightest closed magnetic earphone in the world. Its elegant style and refined finish make this headphone  a pleasure to wear in public.

I would say that these are the best headphones at this price. As many critics have pointed out, you can hear a nuance of sound in a music you would never have known otherwise. This really helps you to enjoy a well-designed sound and adjust the sound with poor audio quality (while still nice). These are for purist audio. If you do not care about fashionable features like blue tooth, noise cancellation, etc. and that you just want the quality of what you are listening to be as pure and beautiful as possible, these are the ones that interest you. to go with. PM-3 are also incredibly well designed. As soon as you take them out of the beautiful shell that it contains, you know that you have an audio-technical part!

Sennheiser Momentum

The compact design above the ear isolates ambient noise to maximize musical enjoyment. Connectivity technology: wired. The foam and headband ear cushions are covered with ultra-soft, breathable. An 18 ohm operating impedance produces outstanding bass response, dynamics, and output level with portable audio devices. One of the two included connection cables includes a three-button online control and a microphone that supports Apple devices such as iPod, iPad and iPhone.

These headphones sound good, with a lot of solid bottom, without mud. Beautiful sweet highs. The quality of the construction is very good. Comfort is good for an hour or two without problems. I’m going to put the upper part of my glasses over the cups for prolonged use. They do not fold flat for travel, but the fact that they do not isolate very well means that I probably will not travel with them anyway. I never tried the Momentum on the ears, so I can not compare them, but I’m happy

Bose QuietComfort 35

The Quiet Comfort 35 wireless headphones are designed with world class noise suppression that makes the sound quieter and better. The volume-optimized equalizer provides balanced audio performance regardless of volume, while a dual noise canceling microphone allows clear calls even in windy or noisy environments. A lithium-ion battery offers up to 20 hours of wireless reading time per charge. Wired mode gives you up to 40 hours of playback per charge. Quality materials make this headphone light and comfortable for listening throughout the day.

The QC35 has virtually the same design as the QC25, but with wireless controls built into the headset. The headphones are hard and of superior quality. The QC35 uses Bose’s special plastic compound consisting of glass-reinforced nylon, memory foam in the headphone padding, inclined speakers on the inside for comfort and comfort. better sound quality, metal caps for the ear cups and solid click buttons. The waist adjustment mechanism is solid and the QC35 can accommodate a wide variety of head sizes.  They were thrown into a rucksack without his holster, thrown accidentally to the ground during sports sessions, and I wore them almost daily due to everyday wear, with the exception of a few small cuts in the chart. they always look almost new.

The QC35 headphone is VERY comfortable. Just the best out there without competition. Of all my friends who have tried, the only one who complains about comfort has a relatively small head. Comfort has improved slightly over time, with the headband becoming slightly softer over time. Because of the material choices mentioned above and the perfect clamping force, wearing them gives you the impression that pillows fit your head. As a bonus: they can also be used as earmuffs during the cold winter seasons – they saved my ears from freezing, multiple numbness.

There is really not much to say. The Bose QC35 is simply the best noise reduction headset in the world. Earlier versions of Bose headphones and headphones convinced me that noise cancellation was perfect and nothing could be improved. The QC35 has not been dramatically improved, but it’s even more perfect than the previous Bose noise canceling headphones. Noise cancellation seems extremely natural as it does not give the feeling of “pressure” on your ears when you use it, and there is no whistling or white noise coming from noise cancellation. The QC35 suppresses sounds so naturally and smoothly that they are more comfortable than electronic noise canceling headphones.  The QC35 handles these situations a lot better. Bose was already the king of noise suppression, and these go even further.

Overall, the sound is warm, full and relaxing, but quite neutral in general. Whether listening to music or watching movies, everything sounds good. Voices, instruments, bass notes, bass rumblings and high-frequency sparks are very well isolated from each other. The bass is particularly impressive. In addition, for the first time in Bose’s series of noise canceling headphones, they sound almost as good (and via a cable connection) as when they are turned on. The sound quality via Bluetooth is fantastic. Even the sound stage is quite respectable for a closed and noise-canceling headphones.
